Media Release: Official Change to the Name of the Ministry, formerly known as the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago - Monday 28 September, 2020

The Trinidad and Tobago Gazette No. 158, Vol. 59 issued on Wednesday September 9, 2020, outlined the appointment of Ministers and the Portfolios of the various Ministries, to form the 12th Republican Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.

In this regard, the new name of the Ministry has been officially gazetted as the Ministry of Labour, formerly the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development.  The Ministry of Labour is under the patronage of the Honourable Stephen Mc Clashie, M.P.

With this change in name, the portfolio of the Ministry has also changed, with three (3) Divisions and one (1) State Agency being placed under the ambit of the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service.

This Agency and Divisions are as follows:

  • National Entrepreneurship Development Company (NEDCO) – Agency
  • Friendly Societies Division (FSD)
  • Co-operative Development Division (CDD)
  • Enterprise Development Division (EDD)

Following this change in portfolio, the digital links and handles of the Ministry have also been amended to the following:
