Media Release: New Minister of Labour, Mr. Stephen Mc Clashie Assumes Office: “Advancing Labour Legislation a Key Priority Area”

 Newly sworn in Minister of Labour, the Honourable Mr. Stephen Mc Clashie M.P. received a warm welcome from staff of the Ministry on Monday, August 25th 2020.

He was met by the Permanent Secretary (Ag.) Ms. Natalie Willis and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) Ms. Joanne Bailey Clarke at the Ministry’s Head Office located at Tower C, Level 6, International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain.

Upon assuming official duties, Minister Mc Clashie said “my first order of business is to advance several important pieces of Labour Legislation and enforce existing Labour laws. In addition, fostering institutional strengthening and bolstering the staffing of several units within this Ministry are high on the priority agenda.”

Minister Mc Clashie also states that the Ministry of Labour will continue to work in close collaboration with all stakeholders within the Labour sector.
