As a member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) since May of 1963, the Ministry continues to hold in the highest regard the work of the ILO in respect of international labour standards and the promotion of decent work for all. Trinidad and Tobago hosts the International Labour Organization's (ILO) Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean. This collaboration has greatly contributed to strengthening social dialogue (among Government, Employers' and Workers' representatives) in Trinidad and Tobago.
The presence of the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean in Port of Spain has contributed to building a fruitful MINISTRY/ILO collaborative relationship.
